Panelled Door Upgrade to Fire Door Rating

A comprehensive system for upgrading flat panelled doors to fire-rated doors. Consisting of an intumescent cloth with a 1mm thick fireproof card face and contact adhesive. The panelled door upgrade  achieved in different ways according to the thickness of the edge of the door and the thickness of the panels.

  • If the edge of the door is 30mm or more and the thickness of the panel is 9mm or more then these panelled doors can be upgraded with our Product 42 intumescent paint for timber, Clear or White system.
  • If the panels are less than 9mm then you will have to use our card or veneered intumescent sheet material. For advice call us on 01304 842 555.
  • If the edge of the door is 30mm or more and the panel is 8mm or less, then apply to the room side only.

The intumescent card, ply and veneer all underwent a fire resistance test employing general procedures and criteria.  Fully tested to BS476 Part 22 (1987) on newly manufactured and old doors at UKAS-approved test centres. EN 1634-1:2000 & EN13501-2:2007 achieving 68 minutes integrity and 57 insulation.
